Note: Not all districts are partnered with EveryDay Labs to send truancy notices.

In order to send truancy notices, notices must be approved within EveryDay Pro. Below are instructions on how to approve notices.

Approving truancy notices

  1. Click on the Truancy tab on the left side of your screen.

  2. On the Eligible tab you will see all students currently eligible to receive a truancy notice. Click on the box to the left of the student's name to select students you want to approve notices for. Note that notices will not be sent until approved.

  3. Once students are selected, click the approve button in the upper right corner of the screen.

  4. Approved students will now be visible on the Approved tab. Notices can be revoked from the Approved tab.

Understanding truancy notice stages

Eligible: Students who have qualified to receive a notice. Students can only be eligible to receive one notice at a time. In other words, in order to become eligible for NOT 2, a student must have received NOT 1. EveryDay Labs automatically updates eligibility each night based on the most recent absence data.

Approved: Students whose notice was approved by a district or school staff member. Notices can still be revoked at this stage. All approvals must be submitted by end of day on Fridays for notices to go out the following week. EveryDay Labs will automatically remove students who are no longer eligible from this list if their absences are updated.

Processing: Notices currently being processed. No changes can be made at this point.

Sent: Notices that have been sent out. Notices are sent on Fridays.

Archived: Students who were eligible for or received truancy notices but are no longer enrolled in the district.

Truancy timeline

Notices must be approved by end of day Friday and will be sent the following Friday.
