In addition to school-wide attendance campaigns, you can develop more targeted campaigns and Tier I strategies by regularly analyzing grade level attendance data.

  • Once you’ve logged in, go to the Student Cohorts tab.

  • Grade is the default option for the dropdown menu.

  • Review grade level data and answer the following questions:

    • Which grade levels have had the strongest attendance over time?

      • What actions are these teachers/staff taking to create a welcoming environment?

      • What other strategies are these teachers/staff using to encourage consistent attendance?

    • Which grade levels may need more support to boost their attendance?

      • What challenges are these grade levels facing? What have you observed regarding classroom climate in these grade levels?

      • What other factors may be contributing to lower attendance in these grade levels?

      • Do these grade levels have motivating attendance campaigns in place?

  • You can click on the download button on the top right side of the screen to download a csv of this report to share with your attendance teams.

  • Based on this analysis, you can create a Tier I intervention plan for the grade levels with lower levels of attendance:

    • If classroom climate is contributing to low levels of attendance, build in additional teacher coaching and support to address this gap.

    • Collaborate with grade levels to create targeted campaigns with incentives (including celebrations and classroom competitions) for improved attendance. Click here to see examples of what this could look like.

    • Document your intervention plan in your attendance team meeting notes, and revisit grade level data on a bi-weekly cadence.
