You can tag students with key information that will help to sort, group, and communicate with students. All tags are also available as filters that can be applied to the student list for easy identification of students.
It's important to note that in addition to tags that you can add, there are a number of tags added automatically by EveryDay Labs. These include tags related to family responses to the Family Chat Bot or Family Support Team and mail issues.
Add a tag to one student
To add a tag to an individual student, find the student in the student list and click into their profile. Once in the profile, click on "Add tag." You can then search for the relevant tag by typing in keywords such as "transportation" or "housing."
If the tag you would like to add doesn't yet exist you can create it by selecting "Create Tag" under the search box.
You will then need to assign your tag to a category (or create a new category).
Any new tags you create will be visible to everyone in your district.
Add a tag to multiple students
If you want to add the same tag to multiple students at once, select the students from the student list by checking the box to the left of their name and then select the "Tag" button at the top of the list.
This will allow you to select or create a tag for the students.
Manage Tags
To update, remove, or add new tags, you can navigate to the Tags page from the navigation on the left side of the page.
From this page, you can create new categories by clicking the Plus button in the upper right corner. Add a new tag by clicking the Plus button at the bottom of any editable category.
To edit the name of a tag, click the edit icon within that tag. You can also opt to hide a tag from the student's profile.
Upload Tag Data
If you need to apply tags to a large number of students, you can also send us a csv file via the Support Chat or SFTP site and we can upload it directly to our database. This can be helpful for adding tags for teachers or case loads.
You can use the template below to help you prepare your data.
If you want to tag students by teacher, we suggest using the teacher's name as the tag_value and the term "Teacher" as the tag_category.
For students who have multiple periods in the day, you would need to create a tag per teacher per period. For example P1 Smith, P2 Smith, P3 Smith. This will allow you to group students by both period and teacher.
